MEET THE COLLABORATIVE FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Donald

Leading educational institutions measure, manage, and report their progress towards sustainability. But they face challenges like limited knowledge and capacity, high up front costs and difficulty securing stakeholder support.

I started Sustainable Campus Collaborative to help you overcome these challenges as your virtual campus sustainability director through peer networking, workshops, training, and direct support.

With over 20 years experience working with post-secondary institutions, I understand the sector and the unique challenges you face.

I host quarterly collaborative workshops where you’ll learn from industry experts and hear from your peers about their journey to creating a sustainable campus.

I’ll work with you to measure your campus sustainability performance, create goals, and a plan to achieve them.

What members are saying

Sustainable Campus Collaborative is an invaluable asset to universities. I got connected with a counterpart across the country who had faced similar issues. This connection provided me with valuable insights into possible solutions. The collaborative approach makes working through problems much easier!

Mount Royal University has benefited from involvement with the Sustainable Campus Collaborative in various ways. Most importantly, collaboration with other similar institutions across Canada has given us insight as to what other Universities are doing with respect to sustainability and energy management. It has also opened up opportunities for possible funding sources for our own sustainability initiatives and how to access various government programs.

Jim Dyck
Mount Royal University

Very knowledgeable people sharing actual solutions in a structured and organized manner.

Mary Quintana

Donald Jantz brings clarity and vision to every project. His collaborative approach and deep expertise make him a trusted advisor in campus and community sustainability. Highly recommended for institutions seeking impactful, long-term solutions.

Tom Jawed

The opportunity to collaborate and share with peers is invaluable. It is always good to hear different perspectives and viewpoints. Without peer interaction, the risk of stagnation and narrow perspective increases. I highly recommend this type of forum.

Michael Versteege
University of Alberta

Donald is very professional and knowlegeable and a great person to work with. I would highly recommend him to work on sustainable campus initiatives. He truly believes in the importance of creating a sustainable environment and can inspire others to do so as well. Thank you!

Working with Sustainable Campus Collaborative has been a genuinely transformative experience for us at University College of the North. From the outset, Donald brought a remarkable depth of knowledge about the STARS accreditation process. He knows the ins and outs of the framework, and guided us through each step which felt accessible and motivating.
